Thanks to a new deal with FOX Sports, you’ll now be able to livestream over a dozen games from the UEFA Champions League right on Facebook.
Facebook users living in the United States can stream the matches in English by visiting the FOX Sports Facebook page or can view them in Spanish by checking out the FOX Deportes Facebook page. The matches will become available for live stream in September.
Dan Reed, the Head of Global Sports Partnerships at Facebook commented, “The UEFA Champtions League is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world, so we’re thrilled to partner with FOX Sports to deliver live matches to fans on Face in the U.S. next season.” Soccer is already the most-followed sport on Facebook, and the platform will have exclusive rights to some of the games.
David Nathanson, Head of Business Operations at FOX Sports stated, “There are more matches in English and Spanish than we have networks to air them on,” David Nathanson, head of business operations at Fox Sports, said in an interview. “Facebook has one of the most social soccer audiences on the web, and this is going to expose the Champions’ League to fans who aren’t tuning into a game on TV.”
